    The backbone of a stable nation, socially and politically, is agriculture. Agriculture is the largest sector that provides a nation with food and jobs. Agriculture is currently affected by climate change and, at the same time, it also contributes to climate change. The drastic increase in climate change began in the mid to late 20th century and has increased since then (Boisvenue & Running 2006). Climate change affects agriculture by interfering with the efficiency of agricultural production. Agriculture faces droughts, floods, rising sea levels, natural disasters and health risks for workers. All these factors lead to poor harvests which create famines and rising food prices. On the other hand, agriculture also contributes to climate change through its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint. These are caused by agricultural activities such as raising livestock, plowing fields, deforestation and the use of pesticides and other agrochemicals. Climate change affects countries differently, mainly due to their adaptive capacity and geographic location. Canada and Russia benefit from climate change while Sudan and Bangladesh suffer the negative consequences and struggle to adapt. Agriculture and climate change are interdependent processes that exist mutually, making it more difficult to reduce one without affecting the other. Climate change is currently affecting agriculture as it causes prolonged droughts, severe floods, rising sea levels and also health problems. Countries like Canada and Russia are positively affected by climate change, as it has allowed the country to prosper agriculturally. Other countries cannot cope with drastic temperature changes, such as Sudan and Bangladesh, whose agricultural growth has been negatively affected by climate change.
