    Zimbabwe, home of Great Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls, is located on the African continent. It is found in the central and southern part of Africa, but due to the impact of the economic, cultural and political life of the country, it is more identified with southern Africa than with central Africa. The coordinates of Zimbabwe are 20° S, 30° EB. Physical characteristics1. SizeIt is a landlocked country of 390,757 km2 between the Zambezi River in the north and the Limpopo River in the south. Ranked 61st among the largest countries in the world, Zimbabwe is a small country compared to the African average. It is barely larger than Japan or Montana, but smaller than Paraguay. About 3,910 km2 of the country's land area is made up of water in the form of lakes and reservoirs. Our capital is Harare, located in Mashonaland, which covers two thirds of the country. Mashonaland is also the region where most Shona-speaking people live. Bulawayo, being the second largest city, is located in Matebeleland where most of the country's Ndebele community lives.2. BordersZimbabwe's border extends a total of 3,066 km. It is bordered by five countries; Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. It joins Namibia at its westernmost point, meeting the country at an almost exact point. The lengths of its borders are: Botswana 813 km, Mozambique 1,231 km, South Africa 225 km and Zambia 797 km. Our country conducts numerous import/export trades with our neighboring countries. We have built a good bridge with our border countries. Zimbabwe has many rivers and lakes, even though it is a relatively small country. Some of them include Save River (Sabi), Lake Kyle (Mutirikwi), Zambezi River and Lake Kariba.
