    I chose the Renunciation project as a project. Renunciation means our act of giving up, abandoning, repudiating or sacrificing something, as ambition. I know there are several links related to this topic that the professor gave us. I chose the video “Diet For America” by John Robins, and it’s a really nice, motivational video. I really like the word that John Robin said: “Our own lives really do make a difference simply by being more conscious of the food we eat.” We can heal ourselves, we can heal the environment, we can heal this planet. Some people are afraid of being vegetarian because they're afraid they won't be able to get protein; This is a false statement. We can also get a protein from vegetables, like that we can get. When I was in second high school, I became a vegetarian for 1 month. This was not a difficult thing for me because I love vegetables as well as meat. I had been vegetarian for 1 month, it was my own desire, without any force from anyone, and I really enjoyed it. Today I choose this project to become vegetarian; I know I'm going to really enjoy this moment. I started eating vegetarian on January 14, 2016 and finished on January 20, 2016. I cooked myself because I think it was more convenient and cleaner. As everyone knows, here in Los Angeles it is difficult to find a restaurant that only offers vegetarian dishes; therefore, I decide to cook myself. I will post some photos of my food here. From my experiences, being vegetarian for those 6 days was wonderful. I felt healthier and more powerful, and I felt more freedom from not having killed a soul (an animal) during those six days. As I said above, being vegetarian can help create a better environment and it's true. As I have researched, people who consume animal products like meat have a higher percentage of diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and heart attacks. Why don't we become vegetarians.
