Essay / The importance of the leadership trait - 1330
“Women tend to act in a collegial manner and actively invite others to participate in decision-making” (Taylor, 1994), but men use their leadership more authority to handle situations. The basics of trait leadership theory describe the person who should be a leader, rather than the style in which they lead. Genders sometimes tend to be conflicting because some people relate to their opposite sex rather than the same. When one uses the basic leadership traits, it helps the leader and sets the path to becoming an effective leader. Whether it is a woman or a man in the leadership position, they must decide which method to adopt to deal with the situation. They might use contingency theory or, if they are charismatic, transformational theory. If a leader possesses a certain trait that can motivate his followers, then a manager or management can promote him so that his peers give an additional result. People respond differently to gender leadership. It varies from person to person, but you need to know how to approach the situation. For example, when a new leader is appointed, a person may not feel that the leader is competent because the method is different from their own perspective. In conclusion, gender determines which theory is used and how it will approach the question.
