They must always make sure that the evidence supports the hypothesis, otherwise they have to start again. For me, I think that if there was no scientific method, it would make the job of criminal investigators and even forensic scientists much more difficult. What would happen if we didn't have scientific methods? Many crimes and cases around the world are said to remain unsolved. If forensic experts did not have scientific methods to examine crime scenes or examine laboratory evidence, many cases would be lost in court. They would not have the evidence to support their thesis. Experts in the field of criminal justice would not have answers or leads for criminal cases if they did not have the means to understand them. The scientific method is a search for knowledge for crime experts. Using the scientific method, they can take the necessary steps to examine the evidence and prove the suspect's guilt. The scientific method also helps support and back up observations about what they say happened. So, without the scientific method in criminal justice, many crimes would go unsolved and criminals would be walking the streets.
