How do games affect the mind? Well, in general, there is so much to say about games. From the history of games to the wide variety of games in America! I mean think about it, you must have played at least some sort of game, but first I don't have to get ahead of myself and first educate you more on the history of the kid in America! How did games come to America? Good question, let's start with the roots, before games even came to America. Dating back to at least 2300 BC, the Greeks, Japanese, Chinese, and even the Romans played games of chance for fun. Let's review the kind of games these countries played. The Greeks and Romans both had a sort of Colosseum where they pitted people against each other to fight to the death. Just like a sport, such as MMA, wrestling, boxing, karate, taekwondo, Muay Thai, Aikido and other physical combat sports. As you can see, games were definitely involved in Greek and Roman culture. Moving on, what about China and Japan. The ancient Chinese game of "GO" is a strategy game much more common with Chinese checkers than with chess! Yes, the first reports of Chinese people playing this game date back to 548 BC! As you can see, games are an integral part of Chinese culture! Okay now let's talk about Japanese games! Sumo wrestling dates back to 250-552 AD Almost 2000 years ago, the Japanese had obviously been playing games for some time! All these games we talked about, Go, Sumo Wrestling, Physical Combat Sports, are all ancient games played by people so long ago, so there must be a reason why they play these games! Well, let's come back to that later, we're still talking about video game history, so calm down. Let’s move on to how the game came to America! Okay, so we know the roots...... middle of paper ......s. A good example is the Flappy auction! Remember how happy you were when you passed the first stupid pole! That feeling of accomplishment! Now let's talk about leisure theory. Have you ever thought that in life, you know, what would be cool if I got married today? And if I did this in real life, where would I be? Well, that's what leisure is for. You play games like The Sims. You play as a person in the game and do what you want to do in your life. Basically, you're remaking your life or "recreating" it and making it awesome in the game person's life! Well, you see people in this game feeling happy doing something that they may never be able to do. It's like being able to be a thief in a game because you know that in real life you would never do something like that. Have you ever wanted to be a really fit person? Well, in the game it is possible, so why not? Find out how recreational games attract people!
