    HR Roles and Responsibilities Document Human resource management is described as “the policies, practices and systems that influence the behavior, attitudes and performance of employees. » (Noe, R., Hollenbeck, J., Gerhert, B., Wright, P. (2003). Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, 1e. McGraw-Hill Companies.) The human resources department is essential to progress of an organization. When a company has a good human resources department, it will tend to grow and prosper. The department's role is to identify employees who are worth hiring and how to determine their place in the company. Another role is knowing the laws, establishing company policies, monitoring benefits and salaries. With the ever-changing economic status of the market in today's society, businesses must understand the importance of having a qualified department. Knowing how to present strategies and policies that will help a business stay above water during times of financial crisis is of the utmost importance. Human resource management is affected by changing trends in society. Three that were chosen to show how the role of human resource management is changing based on these trends are:1. Globalization: According to HRMagazine, "the growing importance of global operations to a company's bottom line means that international assignment management will only increase in importance as an essential skill for human resources practitioners."
