  • Essay / The Book of Romans - 763

The Book of RomansRomans is a very important addition to the Bible. This is written by Paul to the Roman church. Much of Romans shows God's righteousness in different ways. The “Roman Road” passages are an excellent description of how to lead someone to Christ (his saving righteousness). Romans 3:21-26 falls into this importance. This is the basis of God's justice in the death of Jesus (Schreiner p.25). Referring to the different versions of this text, there is not much variation. Several words and expressions are modified but the same meaning is retained. The two versions of the text that will be presented as examples are the NewInternational Version (NIV) and the New American Standard (NAS). Other versions were used but these two were the best examples I found. Verse 24 contains “gift” in the NAS, but “free” is used in the NIV. We also find the inverse 25 which represents the difference between what God was trying to demonstrate. The NAS says, “…this was to demonstrate his righteousness…” but the NIV says, “He did this to demonstrate his righteousness…”. The final variation between these versions is found in the final verse (31). The NAS says: “…we establish the Law. ”, but the NIV says: “…we keep the Law. » These differences are somewhat small, but they could slightly change the meaning. Finding the meaning is why we compare different versions. The basic structure of the Romans is quite simple. Some call it letter-writing style, although there is no evidence that it was read to a group of people. This is the gospel of God's righteousness. Sections of Romans are even devoted to showing the basics of Christianity like the “Roman Way.” This basic knowledge allows ...... middle of paper ......ned to help lead others to Christ. I can also be a more effective witness. This is exactly why I need to study and discover the true meaning of the scriptures. Bibliography: Bibliography: I have not used all of these sources directly, but I would like to acknowledge the books, references, and other resources that I have read. Other elements were also used in the search, but were not sufficient to enable recognition. Schreiner, Thomas R. “Novels” (Michigan: Baker Books, 1998). pages 1-27, 178-199D.M.
