Essay / The tragic, untold story of Natalee Holloway and...
A school trip to Aruba should be an unforgettable experience, something students will never forget. However, for Mountain Brook High School's Class of 2005, it will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Natalee Ann Holloway was both blonde and beautiful. She was also very friendly and well known in her hometown. The school trip was supposed to be the best time of their lives for some students, but it was also the end for others. May 29, 2005 seemed like an ordinary day of fun in the sun. “Holloway and a large group of students went to Carlos 'N Charlie's nightclub in Oranjestad, Aruba” (Federal Bureau of Investigation). After Carlos 'N Charlie's closed around 1:00 a.m., some students returned to the Holiday Inn where they were staying, and others gathered at various bars in the area (Federal Bureau of Investigation). While these bars seemed like a very ordinary and fun hangout, predators lurked there. Holloway was last seen around 1:30 a.m. leaving the local bar in a silver Honda with three young men named Joran van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and Satish. Kalpoe” (Federal Bureau of Investigation). No one knows what happened early in the morning after Holloway left the bar. However, Joran van der Sloot is the main suspect in this case. Van der Sloot is the person Holloway was last seen with. The evidence points to him and even the witnesses believe he is the murderer. It is believed that he gained her trust and killed her because she would not give him what he initially wanted, which was sex. This murder happened out of spite and hatred. From an outside perspective, Holloway and Van der Sloot's relationship looked like any other friendship. Holloway was also attracted by his charm... middle of paper ... I didn't expect this case to go cold and the world to evolve. Van der Sloot's goal was to be unforgettable, but now this affair is forgotten, and so is he. Works Cited Dickey, Christopher et al.
