    Many people would think about the importance of English language today. It is the common language in cyberspace, in international scientific, political, business and entertainment circles. English is essential for all of us. But for most Malaysians, English is not an everyday language. Raja Zarith Sofia binti Sultan Idris Shah says the decline in the level of English is a serious problem in Malaysia. There are various reasons for the decline in the level of Malay English, including: the use of the Malay language qualification in government at all levels of service, the use of the Malay language as a part of secondary education, Government ministries should make Malay language compulsory, Malay language requirement. Anyone wishing to obtain a scholarship through public funds and teacher training courses and examinations must use the Malay language. All this factor affects the decline in the level of English. English proficiency is very important in today's world, Malaysians should urgently stop the decline if they want to remain competitive. However, English is an important part of language knowledge and global competition should now stop the decline has never been more urgent. There is a word that says: “There is a belief, a common language to create a common culture, therefore the creation of a new national identity”. The reason given for studying English was economic. Abdul Rahman Ya'akub announced in 1970 that all English-medium schools would be converted into Malay-medium schools. Fast forward to 2012, the Malaysian government seriously halted the decline of Standard English, and for good reason.
