    1.0 Introduction1.1 Background of the StudyUnemployment occurs when a person is available for work and looking for work but currently without work. The extent of unemployment is typically measured using the unemployment rate, which is defined as the percentage of working people who are unemployed. The number of unemployed people in Malaysia increased from 382,900 people in 2011 to 396,300 people in 2012. Unemployed people in Malaysia are reported by the Department of Statistics Malaysia. In Malaysia, the unemployed are people who are unemployed and actively seeking employment. For many years, the manufacturing sector was the strongest sector in the country and the largest contributor to job creation until the financial crisis of mid-1997. From this period onwards, the agricultural sector was gradually replaced by manufacturing and services. The service sector, in particular, needed people with the right soft skills, such as communication and interpersonal skills, but it proved quite difficult to recruit graduates with these qualities. Generally, most organizations prefer to employ experienced graduates. The employer will find the worker who has a lot of experience compared to the one who has no experience. Lack of experience and skills is also a cause of graduate unemployment. When asked to rate the importance of a well-rounded individual skill set, business leaders place soft skills at the top of their list, ahead of traits like integrity, professionalism and a positive attitude. . Students need to prepare before they graduate and enter the world of work. .
