Summary What processes do we undertake when it comes to solving a problem? This report is divided into three parts which include: the topic of problem solving, my self-reflection and an action plan. The first part of this report examines the history, overview, evaluation and analysis of three problem-solving processes; To clarify, the 5 Whys technique, The Simplex Tool and finally the PDCA Cycle. The research focuses on the most ingenious process that can be applied to a student's life and the job market. Based on research, it shows that the 5 Whys technique is the most beneficial process for a wide audience and environment. The second part focuses on my personal and professional development since the start of my first year at university. The main attention is focused on how I performed and developed from the first to second semester and what I learned from certain events during this period. Part two also includes my personal critique of the revised results on myself using Andy Adcroft's Motivation Survey which specifies many learning strategies, motivation and expectations. It gave me insight into my development throughout the first year of college, where I would be, and what I plan for the following years in college. Finally, the third part of this report focuses on my future development, both personal and professional. It provides insight into my current situation as a student; it became clear that I improved my attitude towards learning. What I hope to achieve by next June is to achieve a first and land an internship. The steps I would like to take to achieve my goal include staying organized and motivated.
