My ideal university experience is based on the notion of academic flexibility and confidence. Over the next four years, I want to immerse myself in intellectual areas that I may not currently have any knowledge of. Since academic opportunities in the College of Arts and Sciences rely heavily on interdisciplinarity and a balance of breadth and depth, my studies here will fulfill my desire for a heightened appreciation of the world and our place in it. Penn's One University policy will also prove essential for me, as I will ultimately want to broaden my horizons beyond the boundaries of arts and science subjects. The College's emphasis on cultivating critical reading, writing, and thinking skills, coupled with its goal of teaching the art of asking questions and seeking answers through research, will perfectly suit my intellectual desires .
