Essay / How I Received the Holy Spirit - 753
Seeing eight of my brothers and sisters super excited made me disappointed in myself. I remember those days when my elders would come home with smiles on their faces that made me cry, I was really happy for them and I wish I could share their happiness too but I couldn't. I didn't have what they had. I didn't even know what it was about, which they were really happy about. Finally, I asked them why they were so happy and they told me that they had received a gift from God himself. I didn't understand how it was possible. I wanted to be happy too, so I just wanted to receive this gift from God too. In early November 2011, my Sunday school teacher, Yuriy, prepared a lesson for us students on the Holy Spirit. He also explained that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. Furthermore, he explained that the Holy Spirit is a gift that we do not deserve, but it is a free gift from God to us. “As it says in the Bible, therefore everyone must have it. » After this lesson, I understood why my brother was so happy and where this strength comes from. My friends and I went to Yuriy and explained: “We really want to receive this amazing gift from God, what should we do?” He replied: “It is the pastors who can help you, come to them and tell them everything you just told me. » My friend and I were very excited as we approached the pastors, but little did we know that disappointment awaited us. The pastors really tried to be nice, while rejecting our wish, we were too young to get it. They probably thought that once we get it, we won't be able to keep it and will lose it. We left them really disappointed and really angry at ourselves for thinking we could ever get it. At first so many thoughts came, for example......in the middle of paper......I learned that my cousin and her friends South Carolina also received the Holy Spirit , the same day as us. I was really surprised because they didn't know we would get it, and we didn't know they wanted to get it too. March 22, 2013 came, and five other people also got it. We were truly blessed and happy that we teenagers did not miss out and also received God's gift. Our prayers came true, although we encountered some obstacles on the first try. But most importantly, I learned a lesson: never give up on what you want, don't feel unloved because God loves ALL people so much that he gave his only son to be crucified on the cross. All those who wish and have this desire to receive this special gift from God. We ended this prayer by thanking God that: Ivan, Natasha, Olga K., Olga T, Ilia, Yevgeniy, Angelina, Max, Maria, Vadim, Inna, Natasha S., Alina and I received the best gift from God..
