    Hurricanes are the most destructive natural disaster known to man. These are very powerful and violent storms, mainly associated with strong winds and heavy rain. A storm is classified as a hurricane when wind speeds reach seventy-four miles per hour. They usually begin over warm seas near the equator and are accompanied by strong winds, flash floods, mudslides and huge waves. The cause of all this has to do with two basic ingredients: hot air and water. Once these natural disasters occur, they not only affect physical parts of the world, but even the economy. Two main factors are responsible for hurricane storms: warm water and warm, humid air, as mentioned previously. Hurricanes occur when warm, moist air from the ocean surface rises and meets cooler air above. In this situation, warm, humid air condenses and forms storm clouds and raindrops. Additionally, during the cycle, warmer air from the ocean surface rises and joins the developing storm. This results in heat transfer from the ocean surface....
