    Since ancient times, people have been known to create literary works to educate and entertain others, or to record history, as the ancient Chinese, English and Egyptians. However, the content of the literature is somewhat influenced by the period in which it was written. For example, the great epic Beowulf found in the 18th century reveals the culture of the Anglo-Saxons, or Williamworth's sonnet "The World is Too With Us", which describes how people's perspectives changed with the onset of the Industrial Revolution. . When it comes to novels and fiction, there are many books that can come to mind. Perhaps the most famous is Uncle Tom's Cabin, which was the product of segregation and partly led to the Civil War in the United States. The Great Gatsby is the product of the Roaring Twenties in the United States. There are books that criticize the society in which their authors lived. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, George Orwell's 1984, and Animal Farm all use satire to criticize society and totalitarianism. In the book 1984, a party plans and controls a country, people must follow strict rules so that the party can have full control of their power, this has created a world where the freedom of the people is not available. The book Animal Farm has similar themes, however, Animal Farm is a simulation of the formation of a communist society, which reflects the period of the Soviet Union from the 1920s to the 1940s. Beowulf is the oldest epic written in old English. Although it is not known exactly when Beowulf was completed, estimates indicate that it was written between the early 8th and 10th centuries.
