    DECADE OF DOMINANCE: THE 1960S When people think of a time in our world where rebellious, free-thinking, conscious people play a role, the 1960s come to mind. the mind. Being a decade known for this is why the 1960s is the most beloved decade of all. The young people lived without hatred, without worry and in peace. The 1960s were a pivotal time for the hippie movement and that's what young people did. Hippies, war and music were what was happening in that decade. This decade showed the world that we can live with peace and love without having to worry about anything. The 1960s were a time of change and the best time ever. The 1960s are the best decade because of the liberal people, their revolutionary character and the entertainment that took place during those 10 years. The 1960s were a very important decade when it came to being liberal. Adolescent girls' decisions grew on their own when the development of the birth control pill was introduced in the United States in 1960 (http://inventors.about.com). Having this kind of freedom was also a good thing for teenagers. This could make them decide to have sex or push them away because they wouldn't want to have to resort to it. Additionally, the 1960s saw many changes in law enforcement. People still respected the law, but it was just a different kind of respect. People did what they thought was right. If they thought something was right and law enforcement didn't think so, they would fight it. The major event of the 1960s was the Woodstock music festival. It was the largest liberal concert ever organized.
