    “Cancer is a disease that attacks you, your family, your job and every facet of your life. » It is the second leading cause of death in the United States and is directly associated with obesity. In fact, one in three women, and half of men, will develop cancer during their lifetime. Cancer attacks health, attitude and self-confidence with a range of chemicals, tests, treatments and paperwork. In many cases, it will come back, even stronger and more terrifying. Since cancer is a huge problem and many people die from it, let's find a cure (Dennis). Fortunately, for my father, we were able to find a cure. On July 3, 2007, my father's doctor came to our house at 5 a.m. to tell us devastating news about my father; he suffers from multiple myeloma. It is a painful cancer in which abnormal cells, plasma cells, take over in the bone marrow. My parents came into my room, woke my sister and me, and spoke to us in a low, monotone voice. They told us that Dad was fine, but that he was very sick. Unfortunately, their faces scared us more than their words. He then underwent extensive tests, radiotherapy, and then chemotherapy. This lasted seven months and only a slight change occurred. Doctors then decided to try a stem cell transplant. They took the neostar's stem cells, which went from the left side of his chest, up to his collarbone and up to his heart. They then extracted the stem cells from his heart. The stem cells would then be stored in DMSO, until the powerful doses of chemotherapy killed the cancer cells, red blood cells and white plaques.
