Essay / College: changes, challenges and choices - 750
Attending a college or university is an important change in the life of the student and also in the life of the family. Since we were children at the age of 3, we start attending school from kindergarten to elementary school, through middle school then high school and then some of us up to middle school . We spend almost half our lives in school, but in the end, the effort is worth it. College is the last step to success, but it can also be one of the hardest. At the beginning of the school year, I felt particularly uncomfortable in that class because I didn't know anyone and I didn't have any friends, not because I was a bad person but because of the language, but now at this point I have a few friends, not many. the problem is that I'm still not afraid to speak and practice my English. My main goal at the beginning of the year was and still is to finish a career also to be responsible and organized because in high school I always left my homework or projects last minute and I knew that if I continued like this at university, that would cause me problems. Mainly, you need motivation, as in Chapter 2 of the book Cornerstone: Creating Success Through Positive Change which explains how to motivate yourself. There are two modes of motivation: external and internal. The external is the support of family or friends or even teachers who push you to do something and thus complete a degree or career, the internal on the other hand is the most important because it depends on you as a a need “To be something, to have something to achieve a goal that you really want, or to solve a problem”. You also need to know your life values to protect them and also use them as external motivation to be responsible even if you have ...... middle of paper ...... diversity. There are diversities such as race, religion, gender, age, ethnic group, nationality, culture, gender, social class, to name a few. Learning and understanding the differences will help us have more friends and appreciate different backgrounds. In college, there is a lot of cultural diversity, so as students and classmates, we should not judge or criticize someone's appearance and respect each other. No one said college would be easy, but you can make it easier if you apply the knowledge you learn in this field. lessons and advice from instructors. I learned a lot in this course and I hope that the next semester will be easier than the first. Works Cited Shelfield, Robert M. and Patricia G. Moody.
