Christopher Johnson McCandless was a hiker also named Alexander Supertramp who ventured into the Alaskan wilderness in April 1992 with some food and equipment , hoping to live in isolation. Nearly four months later, McCandless' body was found, weighing just 30kg. Her story shocked many people and caught the attention of magazine editor Jon Krakauer. At first, he wrote a small article in Outside magazine which caused a lot of controversy among readers. Since Krakauer gained a lot of attention from his article, he decided to investigate McCandless's journey further. Krakauer ended up writing the book called Into the Wild and explains in great detail McCandless's life before his journey into the wilderness. Nowadays most teenagers or young adults would never give up the life they have because they are so attached to electronics and our environment, because Chris McCandless is a different story, he gave everything what he had in life to go out and live a life in seclusion which resulted in his death.CHRIS McCANDLESS BEFORE IN THE WILDChris McCandless was born in El Segundo, California on February 12, 1968, he was the older brother of Carine. His father was employed as an antenna specialist at the National Aerooutics and Space Administration. His mother worked as a secretary at Hughes Aircraft. Then the family decided to move to Fairfax, Virginia, where Chris lives. Chris's parents argued often and sometimes considered divorce. Chris and Carine have six half-siblings living in California, from his father's first marriage.
