How can a company like Apple Incorporated create a product that would attract a billion transactions in less than five months? The answer lies in the application of fundamental management principles. The first step in management is planning. The purpose of planning is to identify the desired goal and decide what course of action will be taken to achieve the goals. Planning is essential to ensure the future success of the planned project. Apple Inc. had to consider many factors when planning the variety of products it would make available to consumers. Apple Inc. has chosen a range of products marketed under the āIā brand. IMac, IPod, Iphone and iTunes are among the hardware and software that Apple Inc. planned to build and market to consumers.
