Drive a car, not a cell phone When driving a vehicle, any use of a cell phone should be illegal. This is not only dangerous for the driver, but also for other drivers on the road. Drivers on the road today face many disruptions that impact their driving skills. Necessary measures must be taken to limit further harm from cell phone use while driving today. (Word Count: 64) First and foremost, using cell phones while driving can distract the driver. Some may say that in today's society, most people need to be in touch with others through their cell phones. However, this need to be continually informed about the social world is not a necessary quality to possess while driving. RESPOND TO OPPOSITION. Instead, drivers should put down their phones and concentrate on the road. The United States government reports that eighty percent of all automobile collisions are related to blurred driving (“Multitasking Leads to Distracted Driving”). This overwhelming figure sends an important message: driving needs to be taken more seriously. Even without using a cell phone, managing a vehicle can be difficult enough.
