Bullying is a problem that students, especially autistic students, face on a daily basis, as it is a persistent problem in all schools around the world. Nowadays, bullying can be considered a way of life for some people; this is how they spend their day. “Never let yourself be intimidated by silence. Never let yourself become a victim. Do not accept any definition of your life; define yourself (Fierstein). Every autistic student, whether verbal or non-verbal, should have a voice and be heard. Applying bullying prevention skills is the most important act a person can take. Students with ASD are huge targets for bullies and stopping it starts with raising awareness in schools. Bullying will always be a problem in schools, but it's time to do the work as a citizen to eliminate as many incidents of bullying as possible.
