  • Essay / Reading experience: my experience during the reading session

First, children at this age love it when you read stories to them, and they love asking questions and getting involved in the story. Second, students of different races will have different stories and backgrounds, and it's important to listen to everyone no matter what. I really loved hearing what they had to say, and it interested me because I don't know what their lives are like. They have read this story a hundred times, while I have not read it once. They knew what was going to happen and they told stories about themselves based on the story we were reading. I think this experience was really valuable for me as a future educator because I was able to work with people from different backgrounds. Every teacher is going to work with different breeds, and I think just having that experience gives you practice for that. I also thought it was good practice for me because it gave me an idea of what 1st graders would be like. I definitely think I could see myself in that age range or a little older. It was definitely worth it, and I'm really glad I chose to do it
