COLLOID MILLThe colloid mill is a machine used to reduce the particle size of a solid. This mainly involves reducing solids present in suspensions or emulsions or reducing the size of droplets in suspensions. It is almost used for all types of materials intended for reduction. Colloidal shear mixers are internationally recognized as the most efficient method for mixing cement-based grouts and other materials. Colloidal mixing results in very stable mixtures that resist bleeding and water contamination. The invention relates to a colloid mill in which the material to be processed is mixed with the mill bodies. An objective of this invention is to avoid these drawbacks by the fact that the sieve or filter rotates, the openings of the sieve or filter being provided on the circumference of a separator device. All the disadvantages of the mills mentioned above can thus be avoided.DESCRIPTIONThe colloid mill is used in the reduction of particles or solids present in suspensions or emulsions.Shearing is the mechanism of the colloid mill. Thanks to the stator and the rotor present in the cylindrical tank of the colloid mill, the shearing and reduction of the particles take place. BASIC PARTS, CONSTRUCTION, PRINCIPLE AND OPERATION OF COLLOID MILL Basic Parts It consists of an inlet hopper which is used to feed the material into the mill. It consists of a rotor and a stator which are used to reduce the particle size by applying shear force. It consists of an outlet which is ...... middle of paper ...... or high viscosity products. Capable of operating under pressures up to 16 bar. High seal value with wear-resistant materials. High quality surface finishes for easy cleaning. Other materials and finishes are available on request The machine is self-draining. Low noise levels. DISADVANTAGES Requires high power for operation of colloid mill. Use of wet materials. Consumes more energy. REFERENCES1.
