  • Essay / Creating a Thriving Learning Environment - 916

Creating a learning environment that maximizes learning and teaching in any classroom can be a task in itself, let alone creating an environment of successful learning in an inclusive education context. There are, however, many ways to achieve this, with both advantages and difficulties in implementing such a program; This seems like an overwhelming experience, especially as a new teacher. Foreman (2008) compares the classroom environment to an ecosystem in which there are four interconnected dynamics: ; teacher factors, student factors, curriculum and resource factors, and physical setting factors. These four factors provide teachers with many ways to set up the learning environment to maximize the frequency of teaching and learning. However, in my belief and experience, the focus is on the teaching factors. The reason for this, I believe, is that it is the teacher himself who implements and practices inclusive education. It's not that I consider one of these factors to be more important than another; but I have recently witnessed the importance of relational factors in creating and maintaining successful learning and teaching environments that serve all students. Dynamic relationships are essential to providing a thriving classroom (Greenspan, 2005). This is supported by Frieberg's Coherence Management and Cooperative Discipline model (Ashman & Elkins, 2008), which suggests that classrooms should be built on support and trust, as these are the foundations that facilitate and maintain relationships between teachers, families, students, colleagues and stakeholders. and the community. However, problems can arise in many aspects of the classroom environment if relationships are not built and maintained, such as a lack... middle of paper ...... as new teacher, adopting new methods to improve the learning experience for all students. I will be using Clicker 5 and FM stereos as well as interactive whiteboards throughout my internship to maximize the learning experiences of all my students. Works Cited Ashman, A. and Elkins, J.
