P&G1. House of brands, brand extension and line extension are all examples of branding strategies. The first, in the context of Proctor and Gamble, is also called a “multi-brand” strategy. There are multiple brands in the same category to meet the needs of different shoppers, like Crest and Oral-B in toothbrushes, or Luvs and Pampers in the diaper section. The company uses its popularity in the market to implement an effective brand extension strategy by taking "Old Spice men's perfume and its extension to deodorant, or the launch of a new teeth whitening system "Crest White-strips”, take the well-known brand “Crest” as a basis. The strategy of extending the range is also kept in the company's arsenal. This is seen when the same product is produced in different sizes or shapes. Items like shampoos are sold in at least two different sizes – one for personal use and another – for professional stores.
