Essay / Should condoms be given in schools - 739
Every year, many unwanted babies are born, or worse yet, aborted in this country. Many are born to young people with little or no education about condom use and sexuality. With a little education about condom use and safe sex, many of these unnecessary pregnancies could be avoided. Many parents do not educate their children about sexuality; therefore the burden generally falls on schools. Condoms should certainly be readily available in the school system, as well as a sex education program that explains how and why to use condoms correctly. Some of us remember the day your mom or dad finally had that awkward “birds and the bees” conversation. » Do your best to pay attention to the topic at hand; but constant thoughts of the word sex and your parents being in the same room are surely distracting. You might not have known it at the time, but you were really lucky if your parents got over the embarrassment and actually discussed the matter with you. Unfortunately, many children don't hear this awkward, but valuable, conversation about sex. So if sex isn't discussed at home, where can we learn? The answer is: from our equally stupid friends who had no idea either! Thank goodness there is sex education in schools. Sex education programs in the public school system are an essential tool for young people. Programs of the past primarily taught abstaining from sex, teaching students that sex is only acceptable when one is married. What good is a sex education class if you can't talk about the act itself and how to do it safely? It's a waste of time and a waste of taxpayers' money. Abstinence should be included in the programs, but the main thing these children need to learn... middle of paper ... empty condoms should be given in a non-transparent bag. Students who feel the process is hassle-free are more likely to return. This in turn results in safer sexual practices. Let's face it, in the current situation of the world, with an already overpopulated planet, every effort must be made to slow the situation down a little. Young people will be mischievous and get into trouble from time to time. Problems related to pregnancy or a sexually transmitted disease should not be one of them. When children are not at home, they mainly go to school. It makes sense that sex education and condoms should be part of the school system. It makes perfect sense that sex education would be included, and that it would be just as important as their college education. If critics would just look at the benefits of having condoms in schools and stop analyzing these programs, the success would be even greater..
