She has been working in the healthcare industry for over four years. My first day, I met the entire team that works at the health center. Adelante Healthcare has four physicians. Each doctor has a different section, some are for adults and children. During my visits, I was assigned to a different person each time. On my first day of observation, I observed Diana Penina, she works in the pediatric section. As she followed her throughout the day, she met children of all ages. Their parents brought them in for checkups or concerns. When the patient was brought into the room, weight, temperature and an ear check were done to ensure there was no infection. Once this was done, they were then asked why they were visiting that day. After verification, the information was then entered into a computer and transmitted to the doctor. On my second visit I was supervised by Angel Mrjases, he works with the adults section. By observing Angel, I was able to help him enter weight, temperature, blood pressure and heart rate into the computer. That day there were checks and concerns about the health of patients. By following my mentor, I also saw how the injections were administered and what steps needed to be taken before starting. I also saw how to clean an ear when it was irritated by earwax. I also saw how to check for high or low sugar. That day we
