  • Essay / Unrealistic Optimism Essay - 2004

First, people who exhibit an optimism bias feel happier and satisfied with their lives. These people are also more in control and more committed to their life's purpose. They will not just think happy thoughts and wait for life to pass by, but rather they will be engaged in a meaningful life and will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. They are also less likely to let go of a difficult situation and deal with it. These are people who don't wait for the rain to pass but learn to dance in the rain to achieve their life's goal. Unrealistic optimism shows increased well-being and happiness. Thanks to this increased well-being, unrealistic and optimistic people are also more able to get back on their feet after a difficult life.
