This may seem obvious to many shoppers. But I believe that multitudes of people purchase items without ever considering that what they are purchasing could be found elsewhere for less money. Even I'm guilty of assuming Walmart has the best prices on everything. If I take a little time to research a specific coffee maker, I can find prices from major chain stores such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Sears, as well as other smaller retailers. (In some cases, smaller stores' prices are lower.) Many stores price match, so if I prefer to shop at Walmart because I live near a store, I can price match them lower competing retailers. Additionally, many retailers offer free shipping on online orders totaling a certain amount. Therefore, if it is not possible to physically visit the store offering the lowest prices, shoppers can order items online at no extra cost. However, ordering from physical stores, either physically or online, is not always the best option. Websites like Amazon and eBay offer millions of items from multiple sellers. Sellers compete for the lowest price, often offering buyers a lower price than department stores. No matter how or where you purchase your items, taking the time to shop is a wise decision.
