  • Essay / Frozen Hope - 973

Endih was a place of cold and sadness. My father and mother were killed by a Kalag, a horrible beast. My father was a very powerful man. He was the ruler of our frozen planet. When he died, I became the leader, but I was very young, too young. I had no idea what I was doing. Endih was in chaos. 10 years later, I was much older and wiser. Perhaps not much wiser. The War of a Thousand Worlds had begun. Fear ran through the veins of the Endih people. I was very scared, too scared to stay away from the war. General Tenko has landed his ship in one of my largest cities. People gathered around the shiny ship. It had a shiny, silver finish. The crowd whispered to each other as the hatch lowered. There was a bright light as a figure descended. It was Tenko, he was wearing a military uniform and had his hands behind his back. Tenko had a strangely sad face, which is what made me trust him. My sister and I stood in front of the crowd. The general approached us. “Oh, is that you, Lord Ya’Tye?” » Tenko asked, his pale skin blending into the snow. “Hello, General Tenko,” I said. My sister stood next to me with a blank expression, she seemed to not like Tenko. “I would like to speak to you in your castle,” Tenko said, looking behind him. “Alone,” I waved to my sister and continued towards the palace without her. The palace was large, silver and blue. We walked on a snow-covered brick path. It led to the castle gate. When the guard at the top of the wall saw us, he began to raise the trellis. We continued. Once inside the palace, the general walked behind me, examining the curtains and paintings. We entered the meeting room. There were eight chairs and a long silver table. “So, my lord, will you join us?” He asked, c...... middle of paper...... we hated this place. The general took off his jacket and sat down on his bed. The Lord was kind enough to let him stay in the palace. Tenko took off his shoes and threw them on the ground. He rubbed his knuckles and lay down. He looked at the ceiling and began to remember things he wanted to forget. Tenko had a mother and a father. They were kind and gave him everything he asked for. His mother made him breakfast every morning and his father read the news. One day, Tenko went out to get water. When he returned, the house was destroyed. Tenko searched the rubble of his house and found two bodies. Tenko shook his head and closed his eyes. He was trying to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night. I thought I felt something touch my face, when I opened my eyes I only saw the ceiling above. I didn't think anything of it and went back to sleep.
