A culmination of these ideals is commonly represented in the facade of the American dream: a person can determine their own destiny and with a little know-how and determination, they can rise. from rags to riches. Even with this vision supposed to govern our country, it is an obvious mistake because the same people stay rich, leaving the same people poor. Not only do the poor stay poor and the rich stay rich, but the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. Currently, programs that were once implemented in our government system to try to help and give these less fortunate people a leg up, without attempting to level the playing field, have been slowly eradicated. Our country was not perfect when it was built and some of the moral values we have today are not consistent with those we had then and many still feel the effects today. Even though people are aware of these problems, it is the solution that is debated. How do you deal with this problem?
