Through a series of bad decisions, the Fool is finally able to show Lear the real world. This realization within Lear would not have occurred if the Fool had kept Lear's foreshadowing to himself. Therefore, Lear changes from a blind individual to a compassionate individual, who sees the truth. In conclusion, other characters largely played an important role in making Lear the compassionate and loving person he is.
