Computer programmers write, analyze and maintain programs and/or software that operate computers; they also write programs to code in computer language. Programmers work long hours with workloads concentrated under firm deadlines. Here is a list of some of the tasks performed by computer programmers: • Code instructions in programming languages • Debug programs • Organize records and reports • Help computer operators solve computer problems • Train amateurs in programming • Instructions writing• Putting together flowcharts and diagramsDuring my senior year of high school, I took two different courses in computer programming, C++ and Visual Basics, after taking these courses I began to become interested more about computers and programming; so I decided that my major would be in computer science (information technology) at university. After attending the University of Phoenix for 4 years, I received my bachelor's degree in C++; from there, I landed a job at the AIG insurance company as a computer programmer. I have been successful in my programming career so far and am learning new programming skills every day. Normally my week consists of 40 hours, but from time to time I have to work longer hours, due to emergencies in the field. system and some that need to be done at a certain time; sometimes the same day. Things can get difficult sometimes, but it's something I love doing; I work with other programmers in an office environment; although there are projects that require us to work alone. If you want to become a computer programmer, I think you need to be passionate about computers, be able to stay focused, have good problem solving skills, be reliable, organized, have good communication. skills and have the ability to meet deadlines. Again, these are just a few factors; If you are interested in this type of field of work, obtain at least a bachelor's degree in computer programming. Working as a computer programmer has many benefits, including vacation, retirement, health and dental plans; which are just a few to start with. To start as a new programmer, the hourly wage I would say is a good start, which is usually between $25 and $47. That's about $70,000+ per year. Wouldn't you say that's a good start? I would say so. That said, I know I will be a programmer until I retire; It's something I really love doing and what more can you ask for than loving what they're paid to do.
