The women in our family are housewives. Even during tough economic times, women stayed home with the children. We are the traditional nuclear family (Coontz, 1997). The marriages I know of were out of love and affection, not out of need or arrangement. We had a lot of men who were in the military who were saving up to be able to buy their own homes. There were very few divorces and teenage pregnancies. Nobody and nothing was perfect.
