  • Essay / My Family's Trip to Florida - 1195

Here we are, packing our bags in nice, warm, balmy sunshine. Sweet-scented May flowers bloom. The huge amount of supplies goes in the back of our big white van. Everyone's face has a sincere and impatient smile. I look at my mother's smile and I can swear it's as open as a crocodile's. We are going on a family trip to Florida. We all get into the big white van. “We’re going to Florida” is pretty much the only thing I hear people say the entire trip. The trip is going to take forever! The van is all cramped and sweaty. I toss and turn all the time. The journey will last all day, all night, and more! Right now, I'm stuck in a seat with my little sister whose name is Alexis. She has dark dark blonde hair (one could easily mistake it for brown) and blue eyes. She is five years old, almost six. I'm really annoyed that she has so much room in the light brown seats of the van, and I'm almost a half and a half times taller than her. “Move!” This is what we constantly say. “No, you’re moving. » “No, you’re moving!” » I fall asleep when we reach the point of South Carolina. When I wake up the next morning, the sun's rays are barely coming through the window of our van. The sun rises and is pale yellow in color. I ask my parents: “Are we there yet?” » They answer: “Almost, buddy.” » Finally, we are in Florida! But before the party can begin, we have to do something else. We have to take my grandfather to our parents in Miami. So we now have to drive 4 hours from Orlando to Miami, cramped in the white van. When we finally arrive in Florida, it's over 100 degrees outside! We enter our loved ones' living space (it's either a condo or an apartment). We decide to have lunch at a local...... middle of paper ......I didn't taste the salt water in my mouth or sting my body (oddly enough, I kind of miss it) .The next few days are similar. We spend time at the beach or at the pool. Soon it's time to go home. All our bags are ready. We load up the van, then set off to head home. The return trip is rather silent. We stop several times and my mom always says, “We’re almost there, guys.” » Well, after many, many exhausting hours, we finally arrive home! The trip is over and it was amazing. I can't believe how much fun it was. I unpack my things from the interior surface of the van. I walk up my stone sidewalk and towards my wooden front door. I wait for my parents to open it, then I go home and smell the familiar smell of my house. I settle down. I take off my clothes to wear new ones. I settle down and soon fall asleep. The trip is over and it was great.
