I. Several issues were addressed in the books End This Depression Now by Paul Krugman and Changing Contours of Work: Jobs and Opportunities in the New Economy by Stephen Sweet and Peter Meiksins. The manual offered a sociological analysis of the nature of work in the new economy, such as the new opportunities in this economy as well as the challenges that many workers now face and, ultimately, how this is changing the family lives of many. The book also addresses the changing face of the workplace and work in general, which includes issues of inequality and discrimination. The book discusses job security, policies and why workers work more now than before or work in a 24/7 economy. Finally, the book talks about ways to make facing all the challenges of this new economy and this work environment. As such, the manual is more focused on “work” in general. Krugman's book, on the other hand, is more global or comprehensive. Basically the theme of both books is the same. Today's economy has changed the way people live and work. In Krugman's book, he discusses the problems we face today, including unemployment and its consequences. Similar to the textbook, it discussed the evolution of work, the workplace, and the workforce. The lack of demand, as discussed in the textbook, is similar in the book in that it has changed the way workers work, are paid, and live. On the other hand, Krugman's book, again, is more comprehensive. The current employment crisis, for example, is being discussed at different levels. On the one hand, new graduates who are just entering the job market are affected by the lack of good job opportunities. Politics plays an important role in economic depression and will also play an important role in economic growth. In fact, history shows that corruption causes the economy to fall into crisis. Two things are needed to solve the problem of the economy: the right stimulus, as the author proposes, and the right policies and clean policy in Washington.
