  • Essay / Defining the True American Identity: A Culture...

Dreaming and creating a better future for oneself and for generations to come is what makes everyone an American. If America were not the refuge of those who grew up without certain privileges allowing them to fight for a better future for themselves and their unborn children, there would be no hope. Many could never dream of building the level of self-determination that our ancestors, our leaders, and our parents had to work for so that we could live our own American dream. Being American means more than cheap food and good TV shows. For now, when people think of America as a whole, we want them to think of the vast culture, hard work, and determination that people have put into making this place our home. Work Cited Dem, Gene.
