Essay / Reflecting on the Writing Process - 736
Not only was this workbook helpful, it was also informative and I learned many important aspects of writing. Through the textbook, I learned how to cite an indirect source and cite an image, as both of these concepts are important when writing an academic essay. I learned how to use parenthetical references correctly, the different variations of in-text citations, and when to use parenthetical references. Additionally, I learned why to use citation in academic writing and how to format the works cited page. In the section on critical thinking, I learned some important questions to ask yourself when researching sources. In the research section, I learned to avoid using an excessive amount of sources, as this sometimes causes confusion for the reader. When going back and correcting grammar errors, the section on sentence grammar was very helpful, as was the section on punctuation and mechanics. This section offered me information on how to correct my grammar and punctuation.
