  • Essay / Afforable Care Act or Obamacare - 1151

The hot topic of the day in the United States of America today is Obamacare. It is also known as the Affordable Care Act. This particular law was signed by the current US President, Mr. Barack Obama, in 2010. It has, as we believe, many advantages and disadvantages. Millions of Americans are divided on this specific issue. When people hear about Obamacare, they always think it's going to hurt them. What many of them don't understand is that it will not only harm them, but can also help or benefit them in many situations. I firmly believe that one must first study and understand it thoroughly before making any judgment or decision about it. There is a reason why I say this. When millions of people are divided on an issue, there is something interesting to know or discover, in my opinion. In this article, I tend to learn in detail what is the so-called Obamacare and what is the use of it. Even though a large portion of the American population claims or believes that Obamacare will hurt everyone and yield fewer benefits, I personally don't see that happening, based on my articles and studies. First of all, I want to start by making a very important point that a lot of Americans don't really understand or know about when it comes to an issue like this. As stated in the article: “Under Obamacare, if you like your employer's health plan, can you really 'keep' it? only a small percentage of the US population needs to enroll in Obamacare (Trumbull) health care plans. When researching this particular topic, I want to focus on finding out who would be that small percentage of the population that would need to sign up for what is called Obamac...... middle of paper ......t indicating its several advantages according to my knowledge on the subject. As far as I know, I think Obamacare is primarily there to help people who happen to be poor or fall into a similar category according to US government data. People who earn far less than middle-class family incomes could get insurance through private insurance and also benefit from federal subsidies if they qualify under Obamacare. I think this question alone proves how important or useful it is to most citizens of our country. Few people can afford insurance, but if Obamacare exists, it would help the poor or those who cannot afford insurance on their own. I say this because I know that not all employers offer insurance to their employees. In particular, private businesses and independent contractors cannot afford insurance..
