    The way police officers have handled certain situations in the past does not seem socially acceptable. Since the Michael Brown incident, people across the country are now afraid of the police and feel like they can't even ask them for help. Across America, slogans such as “Hands up, don’t shoot” immediately began to be popular and 8 people were even arrested in Miami for protesting (Schwartz, Shear, & Paulson, 2014). I had been talking with some of my friends from back home about what they thought about the police and how situations had been handled recently, and I was told that some of my closest friends didn't feel not safe around the cops because they didn't know what to do. it will happen next.
