Essay / Essay Review Strategies - 838
This last semester, fall, has been really beneficial for me. During this semester, I worked on many projects, including four essays, grammar exercises, and other group activities. Although at the beginning of the semester I had some problems writing and especially revising my essays, I now feel better prepared to handle all of this. Among all my essays, I have worked on topics such as literary narrative, rhetorical analysis, synthesis, and a persuasive article. My first attempt, the literary narrative, is supposed to be the easiest to do. However, since it was the first essay of the semester, it was not easy. After spending a whole summer resting and not thinking at all about school-related matters, I was faced with the problem of inactivity. I had to fire up the engines and work hard. Additionally, writing my first essay took me a lot of time. I recall that the simple brainstorming took me five to six days. However, after a lot of work and always revising something here and there, I finally got it right on my first try. I believe I did a good job on this topic because I relied on many specific examples in order to give a clear image in the readers' heads. My second essay, Rhetorical Analysis, was something completely different for me. I have never worked before analyzing articles and citing all my work. Also, I've never used a quote before. During the writing process, I encountered some problems adapting to the MLA format. I first used NC Live, with which you can send the desired citation from a certain article by e-mail, but n...... in the middle of the article ......n reading during the semester. To illustrate this, I learned about new methods to further stimulate children's reading, the problems and benefits of using technology, government programs to encourage children's education and many other information and interesting data. Reading nourishes people with content and new ideas. After reading several articles, I feel more informed about the world and intrigued to learn even more, which may have been my biggest gain of the semester. Finally, I am proud of my progress during the semester. I am also happy to learn so many things like citation, research, analysis and many other things, which will serve as a basis for my next courses and maybe also for my future career. In addition, I hope to continue using these strategies learned during the semester in the next courses, so I will not forget, on the contrary, it will improve even more..
