    Nowadays, everyone must take at least two years of history to succeed in high school. Many people, including myself, ask the question: "Why do we need to study history?" Well, the answer many of us get is: "So that history doesn't repeat itself." The real question is: is history repeating itself? History repeated itself over and over again. An example of this would be the genocide that took place in the Ottoman Empire in 1915, almost 88 years later another genocide took place in Darfur in 2003. These two events are both similar and different in their aspects , but they nevertheless constitute proof that history does indeed repeat itself. For 3,000 years, Armenians lived peacefully in their homeland. They became the first nation in the world to make Christianity its state religion. In the 11th century, the Ottoman Turks fought and invaded many areas. Armenia was one of these regions invaded by the Ottomans.
