  • Essay / The secret of good writing - 1634

What does it mean to be intelligent? Some people believe that being intelligent comes naturally and is a trait one is born with. It all depends on what a person believes, based on what is observed by their peers every day. In my life, I have known very intelligent people who can accomplish what seem like difficult tasks, like writing an article without having to go through any writing process. A writer named William Stafford decided to write an essay called "A Way to Write" on a specific topic about creative writing and how everyone should use some sort of writing process. Writing is something everyone dreads, but being diligent can go a long way. Stafford emphasizes the written aspect of education. Stafford argues that good writers are not born but are formed through hard work and creativity. I agree with Stafford that a person can learn about a subject through hard work and creative thinking. He maintains that, without worrying about failure, he writes things quickly on the page and a feeling of freedom comes and if he exceeds his personal standards, he accepts it. Only one thing can be changed in one's mind. No one else can help him. He must listen to his inner self and its quick-reacting impulses (Stafford 67). Stafford uses these words to show that being creative and working hard can help during the writing process, but it will take a lot of work to get a good final product. There are many ways to approach this topic depending on the situation. For example, if a person is conducting a job interview and the position is open to two people, which person does the interviewer choose: the hard worker and creative thinker or the naturally talented or skilled worker who does not have the former's work ethic. person ?
