Pleasantville speaks to the radical changes that came to Americans as many began to modernize not only in terms of technology but also social reforms. Jennifer is David's sister who was obsessed with an old TV show called Pleasantville which depicted the perfect American family. Jennifer is a self-obsessed teenager who only cares about boys, smokes cigarettes, and basically doesn't follow society's norms.
