    According to CNN, 12 million illegal immigrants currently reside in the United States, which is roughly equivalent to the population of Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio or Michigan. Removing all 12 million illegal immigrants would therefore be like removing one of the states above, a rather incredulous task. In practice, it is not possible to return so many immigrants to their respective countries in an efficient and economical manner. This raises the question of what to do with the immigrants who are already here and how to increase security to keep the number of illegal immigrants entering under control. It might, however, be possible to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants who have been in the United States for some time; that citizenship should come with a certain set of restrictions. In other words, probationary citizenship could be granted. Regarding future illegal immigrants, increased security measures should be implemented, either to prevent immigrants from crossing the border without proper citizenship authorization or to better regulate the influx of immigrants. Overall, current illegal immigrants should receive a probationary citizenship license under the condition that they enroll in an English course, take and pass a citizenship test, be able to provide family support without assistance government and to keep a clean criminal record, all within a reasonable time. set a time limit before receiving permanent citizenship; Additionally, future immigrants should not be allowed to enter the United States by increasing border security measures to increase the effectiveness of screening incoming immigrants, which may include building a better border and hiring more law enforcement personnel.
