Albert Bierstadt mainly painted landscapes or valleys. All his paintings were oil canvases; his canvases were huge and had dramatic colors like green, blue, yellow, etc. He was born in Germany and moved to Massachusetts where he created some of his paintings. He later returned to Germany and attended the Royal Academy of Landscape Painters with Andreas Achenbach and Karl Friedman Lessing. The group traveled together and painted some views. They also went with Albert Bierstadt and also painted with him, they all painted landscapes and valley views. They have worked together for a long time. Once the trip is over, he returns to the United States. His painting Yosemite Valley was painted in 1868 during his visit to Yosemite Valley. The colors of the painting were very beautiful, the paintings had different types of green tree colors and some were red. The mountains were painted with dark colors so that the sunset could be seen, and the river was also painted as if it were real so that it could have the reflection of the trees, bushes, mountains and clouds. He traveled to the Western United States to paint valleys and landscapes. On his journey through the West, he stayed for some time in Yosemite. All his paintings were on large canvases because he captured all the views. When he painted the valleys, he was said to paint “with different kinds of emotions” (Patricia B. Sanders). The colors he used were beautiful and made you think you were in the photo. His brushwork was perfect and his paintings were very detailed. He took his time painting all the beautiful views. Bierstadt traveled around Italy and painted landscapes. On a trip, a group of people joined...... middle of paper ...... He didn't go to school like Albert Bierstadt. He used all the things he knows when he was making furniture when he was only seven years old. His paintings were magnificent: the colors were vivid and most were about war. Before painting, Luis Monza drew a lot of things to learn how to draw. Louis Monza also painted some paintings on the second war which was taking place in his hometown. He captures death during war. The colors he used were dark colors which were dark colors used on the painting. The painting is called Orcastra at War (fig3), in this painting it shows a lot of sadness. People who play instruments wear dark colors in front; there is a woman who looks sad. In the background, buildings destroyed by flames. This painting shows the war and what he thinks about it.
