Information plays a very critical role in operations and processes, and users demand tools that facilitate access, analysis and sharing of data. There has been a growing demand for business intelligence expansion, and BI vendors are continually trying to satisfy these demands. However, the cost and complexity associated with BI tools limits growth. Therefore, users are turning to a new technology called “data discovery.” Data discovery tools have grown in importance because they are both complementary and competitive with traditional BI tools. With advances in dashboards, search and data analysis, these tools provide non-technical users with more advanced and powerful applications, through which they can easily deploy and customize product-related information.
