The affectionate worldThe first facet of the living world series, the affectionate world, concerns human relationships and affection. A person plays different roles in a society, and these roles are intertwined in a complex network. With a series of works on different subjects, Ju Ming sculpted the roles each individual plays, their status and behavior within the respective social stratum. He does not move away from the world in which he has roles, relationships and feelings, he is part of it. this world, as seen in the work A Girl Playing with Sand representing his young wife on Tongxiao beach, The Third Generation representing his grandchildren playing games, or in Treasure which depicts the love between parents and children. Ju Ming not only cares about this living world, but also cares about his own children and grandchildren, revealing parental love and expectations for the next generation. Wood carving in the early years Ju Ming's first wood carvings came from his experience of daily life. They showed the development of craftsmanship to artistic creation. His 1961 work A Girl Playing with Sand depicts Ju Ming's young wife crouching on Tongxiao Beach, playing with the sand. The sculpture demonstrates the artist's endless love and care for his wife.
